Rare by nature, Mars Whisky was founded in 1985 but spent the best part of a decade silent. Nowadays, Mars has two distilleries – Shinshu and Tsunki. This limited edition dram comes from the lofty Shinshu Mars Distillery, the highest of all Japanese distilleries at 800m above sea level. This annual sought after release matured in a mix of Sherry and American white oak casks with peated and unpeated malts. Arguably the best release yet from the mountain top distillery.
