Description
It’s a subject of fierce debate, but the Irish have a strong claim to being the first to distil whiskey. As early as the 12th century, monks were making spirits in the Emerald Isle. These days, Irish whiskey is amongst the most popular in the world. Triple distillation, and Single Pot Still whiskey (using both malted and unmalted barley) are hallmarks of Irish drams, and though renowned for its softness, the spirit is diverse and characterful.
