Run by an ex-high school chemistry teacher David and his son Andrew, Bakery Hill was founded n 1999. They create small batch whiskies with a focus on quality of quantity to prove the point that great single malt whiskies could be made outside of Scotland, and specifically in Australia. Bakery Hill Distillery 5 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is sweet with creamy peat aromas blended with a little medicinal with green banana. The palate leads towards Islay, rich but light mouthfeel and sweet peat again. With David being an ex-high school chemistry teacher, That Boutique-y Whisky Company had to go with a Breaking Bad theme for this label. They’ve set the scene in the Australian outback with that classic Winnabago full of casks.
