For the past year, Hobart Whisky have been developing a barrel aged beer program for pilot batch brewing. Their intentions were to produce good beer complimenting their style of whisky. The Ginger Beer Cask is the second from this Beer Cask Series. The Ginger Beer Cask Single Malt Whisky was matured in an 40L ex-bourbon American oak cask for 3.5 years before finishing another 10 months in another 40L ex-bourbon American oak cask previously filled with a ginger beer brewed by their head distiller, Ben James. Hobart Whisky, a proud culmination of Tasmanian climate, endeavour and skill. Hobart Whisky bears testimony to their Tasmanian malted barley, fermented with style, gently distilled with grace, then sweetly rested in small hand selected oak casks.
