Machrie Moor is a windswept and magical peat bog located on the west coast of the Isle of Arran. Across its barren, undulating terrain are bronze age stone circles and standing stones. One of the stone circles is known as Fingal’s Cauldron Seat, where sits a stone with a carved hole. The legendary warrior giant Fingal is said to have tethered his favourite dog Bran to this stone. The Arran Machrie Moor Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky perfectly captures the rugged beauty and lore of the landscape. This whisky as citrus aromas across the nose with a background of peat and a puff of smoke. A robust whisky with orchard fruits typical of Arran blend together with a layer of red berries and toasted brioche. This finish come together with smoke, citrus, vanilla, chocolate, and coconut. Since 2019, peated whiskys from Arran are produced at their sister distillery at Lagg.
