Description

SantoWines Santorini Vinsanto is a naturally sweet wine produced with sun dried grapes. For the 2013 vintage, the grapes were sun-dried from 6-8 days then a slow fermentation for another 40-60 days. The wine is then aged for 36 months in French oak barrels followed by further aging in the bottle. As a result this aging the wine is a beautiful amber colour in the glass. It has a complex nose with aromas ranging from dried fruits such as raisins and apricots to sweet spices like cloves and cinnamon. A lovely palate balanced by a fine thread of acidity cutting through the sweetness. Pair this delicious drop with sweet, cheese, fresh fruits, or dried nuts. Founded in 1947, SantoWines is now the largest organisation on the island representing all the cultivators with over 1,200 active members.
