Product Description: Precision and perfume define this single-vineyard Barbaresco from the historic Il Bricco estate in Treiso, one of Pio Cesare’s most important holdings. The 2021 Barbaresco Il Bricco di Treiso is produced from Nebbiolo grown on calcareous marl soils at higher elevation, a site that consistently delivers aromatic lift and finely etched structure. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel with extended skin contact to achieve depth while retaining varietal purity. The wine is then matured in a combination of large French oak botti and a small proportion of barriques, a traditional approach that refines tannins without overt wood influence. In the glass it shows a bright garnet colour typical of classically styled Nebbiolo. Aromatically it opens gradually, revealing red berries, rose petal and subtle mineral complexity. The palate is poised and linear, showing more finesse than weight, supported by vibrant acidity and polished tannins. The 2021 vintage highlights clarity and balance, offering approachability with the capacity for graceful ageing. It is particularly suited to veal, roasted poultry, porcini mushrooms and aged cheeses.
