Product Description: The Serre vineyard is the beating heart of Bannockburn Pinot Noir, and in magnum it becomes something even greater. First planted in 1984 and extended in 1986, Serre is Australia’s oldest high-density Pinot Noir block, modelled on the vineyards of Burgundy’s Cote d’Or. Its MV6 vines, rooted in clay, basalt and limestone, have been certified organic since 2021, consistently producing wines of depth, structure and longevity. The 2024 release was handpicked, fully destemmed, and fermented on skins for 10 days before pressing into French oak hogsheads (40% new). Bottled in February, this magnum bottling captures Serre’s hallmark dark fruit, spice and earthy complexity in a form built for long, graceful ageing. Perfumed and layered on the nose, concentrated yet precise on the palate, and defined by serious tannin structure, it is a wine of presence, power and endurance. In magnum, the expression is amplified, offering a slower evolution and greater depth over time. Tasting Notes NOSE – Perfumed & layered Fresh flowers, spice, brambly berries and earthy nuance, with a subtle reduction adding depth. PALATE – Concentrated & precise Bright red and black fruits framed by fine tannins and subtle earthiness; vibrant acidity brings lift and balance. FINISH – Persistent & ageworthy Long, refreshing and finely structured, with tannins carrying definition and length.
