Having cut his teeth as a Sommelier in New York’s finest restaurants, Brash Higgins winemaker Brad Hickey fell in love with McLaren Vale in 2007 and has been making some of the region’s most exciting, expressive wines ever since. J MCC is a blend of the Southern French varieties of Mataro, Cinsault & Carignan that thrive in the climatically similar McLaren Vale region. This is a wonderful savoury and spicy expression of the style, with bright acidity that keeps the wine fresh and bright. A beautiful conceived, medium-bodied, food-friendly red wine. Ruby red with an attractive nose of clove, cinnamon, cherries and roses, the MCC delivers wildness and perfume in equal measures. Sweet red fruit contrasts the spiciness on the palate and finishes clean, dry and focused with rose petal and cherry notes on the after breath.
