Description
Calyx Wines are produced and labels letterpress printed by Yuri Zinenko. Production takes place in a small shed in Keilor, Melbourne, surrounded by an acre of vines. All production is completed by hand, on site, with help from family and friends. For the 2020 vintage of their Morello Noir, Calyx has produced this one with 80% Morello Cherries, 10% Pinot Noir, and 10% Syrah Rose. All three parts fermented separately then blended together before receiving 9 months elevage in oak. Cherry flavours and scents. Strong. Juicy, crisp, a little tannin, a squeaky thing going on. Sweet, exotic, unusual. Not sure where to place this. Quite yummy, very different, great with food I suspect, autumnal fare would sing with this.
