Cape Mentelle Trinders Shiraz Cabernet 2018

Description

The Trinders Vineyard was established in 1988 and named after a local school, the first in the Margaret River region. Cape Mentelle has developed an international reputation for these varieties that are perfectly suited to the climate and soils of Margaret River. It’s both briary and vanillin with olive tapanade, black cherry and various woodsy characters piling on. It feels both soft and generous in part, hard and stern in others. I wouldn’t recommend it as a drink-now proposition; it needs time to mellow. There’s a peanut character to this wine, a green tobacco note too.
