This passing of the torch comes to life through the 2008 Vintage through a shared vision, drawing on the best of the two winemakers’ approaches blending Richard’s sophisticated and comprehensive knowledge with Vincent’s audacious intuition. Dom Perignon vintages set their own release dates, and the 2008 Vintage required more patience than 2009 which was presented earlier – an unprecedented event in Dom Perignon’s history. In fact, this 2008 Vintage is considered somewhat of a Champagne Miracle with 2008 having been dominated by grey, overcast skies until harvest in September. After a long period of reluctance, Dom Perignon 2008 is finally opening up in complete balance. It’s slender, pure, athletic character is now also expressed with warmth. The fruit is pronounced and clear, the aromatic persistence remarkably intense.
