Christian Moreau Pere et Fils’ 2023 Les Clos is drawn entirely from a rare and uninterrupted 2.9-hectare plot—the largest single holding in the Grand Cru vineyard. Sitting on the prized slope from base to crest, this parcel is home to vines aged between 45 and 75 years, producing fruit that captures the full complexity of this legendary site. Managed by Fabien Moreau, the domaine continues to push boundaries while staying rooted in generations of vineyard excellence. Vinified in one-third barrel (only 10% new) and two-thirds stainless steel, this release balances structure with mineral-driven clarity. The 2023 vintage demanded finesse: after narrowly escaping frost and fighting back mildew, a September heatwave made harvest timing critical. The resulting wine shows detail and tension, revealing Moreau’s careful, organic-led approach. This is a wine built to age, with a cellar window easily extending into the next decade.
