Description
Product Description: A Jura Chardonnay with Burgundian bones and Alpine nerve. Domaine du Pelican’s 2023 Arbois Chardonnay captures the tension and texture of the Jura’s limestone and marl-rich soils, offering a wine that balances volume with poise. Sourced from high-altitude parcels across Arbois and Montigny-les-Arsures—some at nearly 400 metres above sea level—this cuvee has been a cornerstone of the domaine’s range since its first vintage in 2012. Fermented and aged in seasoned barrels and large-format foudres, this Chardonnay is taut and finely mineral, with the limestone parcels giving a chiselled, linear edge, while the marl brings breadth and length. Guillaume d’Angerville’s Burgundian roots are evident here, but the wine wears its Jura identity proudly: bright, saline, and textural, with the 2023 vintage bringing a particularly vibrant lift. This is Jura Chardonnay for lovers of terroir-driven whites. Pair it with Comte, fresh oysters, or roast chicken with tarragon. Drink now or cellar for five to seven years for added depth.
