Francois and Isabelle Lumpp produce their wine on a 9 hectares domain in Givry. In the 1970’s Francois inherited his families vineyards and later in 1991, he started his own label. He focuses entirely on the best premier cru sites of Givry. Givry can often be confused with its more famous brother Gevry in the Cote d’Or but can produce stunning Pinot Noir of structure and finesse. The finest wine I have ever tasted from this important estate is the 2019 Givry 1er Cru A Vigne Rouge, a striking cuvee that wafts from the glass with aromas of cassis, plums, wild berries, sweet soil tones and spices.
