Jo Perry might well be the hardest working young winemaker in Australia. Since first doing vintage work at Cape Mentelle as a teenager, study at Charles Sturt University was followed by 7 vintages in Spain managing two wineries, 15+ vintages in France, New Zealand and the US not to mention the last 14 vintages in Margaret River. Her ironically named Dormilona label (‘lazy bones’ in Spanish) is at the forefront of natural, low intervention winemaking in Western Australia using almost no additions, no new oak and only sourcing organically farmed, biodynamically harvested grapes. The Semillon is organically grown from the stunning Yungarra vineyard on the Yallingup hill side. Simply hand harvested in the cool morning & the whole bunches popped directly into the press. Simply cool clean tank ferment & left on full lees for four months before racking to bottle.
