Description
New label, same deliciousness. Barney Flanders grows and makes a mean Pinot Noir, so it’s no surprise Barney uses the same grape to make his slinky and fleshy Mornington rose. The fruit hails from a south-facing Pinot Noir block in Merricks; handpicked, sorted and whole bunch pressed, the juice is steeped on its skins for a day before being moved into barrels for wild fermentation. A maturation of six months on lees followed the primary fermentation. The Garagiste Le Stagiaire Rose 2018 is a paler, more ochre hue than previous vintages, yet still those telltale aromatics of rose, wild raspberry and pomegranate. The palate is bright, fresh and vibrant with succulent red berry and aniseed before a crunchy finish.
