Product Description: Perfumed, red-fruited and impossibly seductive—Primavera is the most fragrant Pinot in the Giant Steps stable. Planted in 2001 by Lou Primavera in Woori Yallock, this small vineyard sits at 240 metres on north and north-east facing slopes of red volcanic clay loam. The site captures both sunlight and cool air, producing Pinot of lifted aromatics and fine-boned elegance. Giant Steps has worked with the Primavera family since 2006, drawing fruit from two distinct slopes: MV6 on the north, and 115 and G-clone on the south. In 2024, 35% whole bunches were included in fermentation, enhancing spice and structure without overwhelming the wine’s signature delicacy. Where Applejack and Sexton bring weight and power, Primavera Pinot Noir is all about perfume and finesse. It brims with red fruit, florals and gentle musk, finishing with supple tannins and refreshing acidity. A wine that charms in its youth but will reward carefully cellaring over the next decade.
