Product Description: From the cool slopes of Tarrawarra comes a Chardonnay of depth and quiet power. The Tarraford Vineyard, planted on a sheltered south-facing slope, ripens at a slower pace than many Yarra Valley sites. This cooler microclimate shapes fruit with lifted aromatics, natural tension, and a fine thread of acidity. The 2024 vintage brings all of this into sharp focus. Fruit was hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed before fermenting wild in large French oak puncheons (27% new), then left on lees for nine months. The result is a Chardonnay with breadth and texture, counterbalanced by line and drive. Where Sexton speaks with openness, Tarraford is more layered—seductive in aroma, creamy on the palate, yet finely etched. This is a wine built for both immediacy and short-term cellaring.
