During the 1850’s, Heathcote was the scene of fevered activity as an important gold field town and today Heathcote is best known for producing another rich and prized gem – Heathcote Shiraz. This is both polished and bold, yes both, with warm/rich fruit flavours and plenty of them but also a neatness; a control; a clear impression of refreshment. Sweet plum and black cherry flavours blend effortlessly with clove, sandalwood, cedar and a kind of undergrowth/earthen/dried herb aspect.
