Product Description: The Henschke Keyneton Euphonium Retrospective Twin Pack is a rare and exquisite collection, showcasing two exceptional vintages of the iconic Henschke Keyneton Euphonium. Henschke, a revered family winery with over 150 years of heritage, crafts wines that are a true reflection of the land they come from. The Keyneton Euphonium blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc is a harmonious expression of the Eden and Barossa Valleys, sourced from up to 50-year-old vines. This twin pack features two museum releases from the 2010 and 2019 vintages, offering the unique opportunity to compare these beautiful wines side-by-side. The 2010 vintage, rated ‘Excellent,’ presents a more subtle, elegant style, while the 2019 vintage, rated ‘Exceptional,’ exhibits a rich, plush complexity. Both wines offer vibrant fruit expressions, with delicate herbal and spice notes, and are a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of the Henschke family. The 2010 vintage is now at its prime, offering a stunning example of how a carefully crafted wine evolves with age. The 2019 vintage, with its vibrant fruit profile, is still developing and will continue to mature beautifully over the coming years. Together, these two vintages make a perfect gift for collectors or wine enthusiasts eager to explore the depth and diversity of one of Australia’s most respected wineries. Maker: Henschke is one of Australia’s most prestigious and historic wineries, with over 153 years and six generations of family ownership. Located in Keyneton, South Australia, within the renowned Eden Valley wine region, Henschke has built a legacy of crafting premium wines, including its iconic single-vineyard wines, Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone. Since 1862, the Henschke family has cultivated exceptional vineyards in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley, and Adelaide Hills, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation. Stephen and Prue Henschke, the fifth-generation winemaker and viticulturist team, have led the winery since 1979, restoring native vegetation and adopting organic and biodynamic vineyard practices. The sixth generation, led by Johann Henschke, continues to honour the traditions of the past while embracing modern winemaking techniques to ensure Henschke remains a leader in fine wine production. Henschke’s commitment to sustainability and excellence has garnered numerous accolades, including the Wine Enthusiast’s New World Winery of the Year (2021) and the Halliday Wine Companion’s Winery of the Year. The winery has also been recognised with the Robert Parker Wine Advocate Green Emblem, highlighting its dedication to environmentally conscious practices. Philosophy Henschke’s philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that great wines are made in the vineyard. The winery has embraced organic and biodynamic farming practices, ensuring the health of the vines and the land for future generations. By working with nature rather than against it, they produce wines that are not only reflective of the place but also allow the true expression of the fruit to come through. The family’s attention to detail, commitment to quality, and respect for the environment have resulted in a portfolio of wines that have gained worldwide recognition for their excellence. 2010 VINTAGE – This has come on well since seven years ago. Typical regional raspberry, and spicy/vegetal bouquet, laced with dried herbs including thyme and oregano. Medium bodied, soft, supple; drinking very well now. Lovely wine, elegant and drinking in its prime. – Huon Hooke, The Real Review, 93 Points. 2019 VINTAGE – Dark, inky and opaque in the glass. Really juicy, dark fruited aromas of plum conserve, blackcurrant pastilles, sweet spice and mocha, there’s a lift of violets in there as well. Full flavoured, ripe and opulent, there’s a richness of dark fruit flavours here, plum, mulberry, blackberry and a touch of choc mint. Firm, textured tannins and lively acidity temper the plush fruit and provide mouth-feel and cut. Smart gear. – The Real Review, 95 Points.
