As one of Islay’s most iconic distilleries, Lagavulin’s reputation is well established as the benchmark for aged expressions against which others are measured. The 16 year old is beautifully balanced with restrained use of peat, robustly flavoured new make spirit and an extensive ageing period in ex-bourbon barrels, whilst immersed in the maritime air, gives this spirit time to slowly evolve into a truly majestic and complex whisky.
