After a difficult start to the season, 1997 turned around with a warm, dry September that rescued fruit quality. Roederer’s Rose Late Release is built from Pinot Noir sourced within the La Riviere estate, supported by Chardonnay. The cuvee is crafted through a slow infusion of macerated Pinot Noir, into which Chardonnay juice is added, fermenting together to achieve harmony and precision. This release shows the resilience of the vintage. Age has deepened the structure and added savoury complexity, but the wine remains vibrant. It is lifted, vinous and intensely site-driven, carrying power without excess. Tasting Notes NOSE Apricot and Spice Roussillon apricot leads into wild raspberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, layered with cocoa, mocha and gingerbread. PALATE Textured, Vivid, Balanced Tense and energetic. Red fruit and citrus glide through a savoury, vinous core with precise acidity. FINISH Bitter Citrus and Grip Length driven by citrus pith and chalky depth, finishing dry and mineral with a touch of spice.
