Description
Product DescriptionLifted, pure and finely structured from some of Australia’s oldest Grenache vines. The 2023 MMAD Grenache is sourced from dry-grown bush vines planted in 1939 on Blewitt Springs’ deep Maslin sands over ironstone. These old vines, shaped by elevation, coastal breezes and a long growing season, deliver fruit of exceptional clarity and aromatic detail. Fermented with a portion of whole bunches and matured in large seasoned oak, the wine is built on texture and restraint. The 2023 vintage, described as the coolest and latest to date, yielded a wine of brightness and precision with firm structure and enduring perfume. The MMAD project brings together Martin Shaw, Adam Wadewitz, Michael Hill-Smith MW and David LeMire MW with a shared focus on site expression and the preservation of old vine material through low-intervention winemaking.
