The Hi Nikka is a blend released back in 1964, named after the growing Hi-Fi sound movement, the Hi Nikka Mild is a wonderful, smooth, easy-drinking blended whisky. Clean, crisp and smooth with a hint of smoke, rumour has it that the founder of Japanese whisky Masataka Taketsuru had a dram of this almost every day. If it was good enough for the father of Japanese whisky, then it’s good enough for us! In 1918, a young Japanese man with an ambition to make genuine whisky went alone to Scotland to unveil the secret of whisky making. He is Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky.
