The name of Royal Reserve goes back to the ancestors of the Philipponnat family, vineyard owners, wine-merchants and winemakers, suppliers to Louis XIV, magistrates and Royal Mayors of Ay. Philipponnat Royale Reserve Brut NV is a deep golden colour with hints of amber. The nose begins with linden, vine blossom, and lightly toasted bread. With time, aromas of citrus fruit, honey, and summer berries come through. The palate is fruity and fullbodied, with a long, generous finish of biscuits and baked bread.
