Pooley was established in 1985 when the family planted 10 rows of Riesling & 7 rows of Pinot Noir on their property at Coal River in Southern Tasmania. The 2020 vintage of Pooley Butcher’s Hill Pinot Noir has noted of cardamom spice, dark cherry, and undergrowth. A wonderfully balanced wine with red fruits and umami underscored with notes of cured meats, mushroom, bramble, and cherries across the palate. Finely boned tannin, a lively acid, and a bright future ahead.
