Te Mata Alma Pinot Noir 2022 is drawn from the Woodthorpe Terraces Vineyard, planted in 1999 on free-draining sandy loam over gravel. The cool, expressive site lends vibrancy and finesse to the fruit, producing a Pinot Noir that is both structured and layered. Fermented with extended skin contact and matured for ten months in French oak barriques, Alma Pinot Noir reveals the care and detail that has defined Te Mata Estate since 1896. It is a wine of quiet confidence, bright with red fruit, underpinned by spice and savoury complexity, and shaped with a fine, silken structure that speaks to its place of origin.
