The Sakurao distillery has been making liquor, sake and shochu, a traditional Japanese alcohol, with the greatest care and attention since 1918. In 1990, it began to produce whisky and the Togouchi brand was born. Since then, Chugoku Jozo has developed and refined its skills and techniques to make some of the very best Japanese nectars. This is the first ever single malt released by Togouchi. Aged for 3 years in a combination of bourbon casks and sherry casks and released non-chill filtered. A nose of fresh vanilla, apple and orange marmalade leads to well rounded flavours of fig and dried fruits with a finish of sweet spices and candied ginger.
