Product Description: Caroline Morey’s 2023 Santenay Rouge captures the clarity and finesse that define her small but highly regarded domaine. Sourced from vines in Le Chainey, high on the slope near Premier Cru Grand Clos Rousseau, the wine reflects both the site’s freshness and Morey’s light-handed approach in the cellar. Fermented with natural yeasts and aged in 350-litre barrels with around 30% new oak, the wine is virtually all destemmed and handled with delicacy. The result is a Pinot Noir that privileges purity and freshness over weight, with fine tannins and elegant balance. Tasting Notes NOSE – Bright cherry Sour cherry and red berry fruit with floral lift and earthy undertones. PALATE – Fine texture Crunchy red fruit, fresh acidity and supple tannins give an elegant frame. FINISH – Fresh finesse Medium length with tension and clarity, softening with age.
