Chandon Blanc de Blancs NV

Description

The Chandon Blanc de Blancs has green edges and is pale yellow in colour. It has persistent mouse and fine bubbles. The nose hints of apple and fennel with fresh lime blossom. The background is of nuts and toast. The plate is bright with primary fruit flavours of Fuji apples, nectarine, pear, and ripe meyer lemons. There is a soft acidity, a gentle creamy texture and a very long finish. As a widely planted grape in Australia, Chardonnay, represents around a quarter of the total grape harvest. Because of this, there is a large variety of locations and each location providing different sets of flavours. The diversity of Chardonnay expression shown in Australia is a large benefit to Australian produced sparkling wines. This first release of Chandon Blanc de Blancs non-vintage was an exciting opportunity to show off a truly Australian style of Chardonnay blended as Blanc de Blancs and made using the traditional method.
