Product Description:Old vines and limestone precision define this finely tuned Premier Cru Chablis. Domaine Moreau-Naudet’s 2023 Vaillons comes from 1.7 hectares of Chardonnay across several prized sub-parcels within the Vaillons Premier Cru, including Sechet and Roncieres. The vines, aged between 60 and 77 years, are deeply rooted in Kimmeridgian limestone, producing fruit of remarkable concentration and mineral drive. The 2023 vintage balances ripeness and tension, reflecting a season that offered generous fruit yet retained Chablis’ hallmark clarity. Around 70 percent of the wine was raised in stainless steel to preserve purity, while the remainder matured in seasoned 228-litre barrels and larger 600-litre foudres. This approach gives shape and texture without masking the wine’s chalky core. The resulting Vaillons shows breadth and focus in equal measure. Layers of citrus and pear unfold over crushed stone and oyster shell, leading to a saline, finely structured palate. It captures both the immediate appeal of the vintage and the latent energy that will reward time in bottle.
