Product Description: Declassified Barolo fruit meets Langhe vibrancy in this finely composed Nebbiolo. The 2022 Massolino Langhe Nebbiolo captures the soul of Piedmont’s noble grape in a more expressive, approachable form. Crafted by one of Serralunga d’Alba’s most respected Barolo producers, this wine draws from three key sites: parcels in Serralunga that didn’t meet the strict Barolo selection, the family’s Cascina I Maschi vineyard on the Monforte d’Alba border and a lighter, sandier site near Alba. The result is a nuanced expression that brings together Barolo structure with the lift and brightness of Langhe. The 2022 growing season was warm, tempered by well-timed summer rains, producing fruit with ripe tannins and exceptional aromatic clarity. Fermentation took place in cement vats with a gentle extraction to retain purity and perfume. The wine then spent 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks, allowing it to evolve without losing its energy or detail. Aromas of wild cherry, rose petal, crushed raspberry and sweet herbs rise from the glass, with subtle layers of anise, earth and orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied and finely poised, delivering red fruits, spice and savoury minerality on a frame of silky, powdery tannins that nod to its Barolo heritage. It finishes long, delicate and composed, with just enough grip to reward short-term cellaring.
