Stargazer 2024 Pinot Noir comes from Samantha Connew’s Tea Tree vineyards, a site she has steadily nurtured since taking it over in 2016. The vineyard mix of older Wadenswil vines and newer plantings of Abel, MV6, and Dijon clones provides both depth and lift, giving this wine its layered character. Connew’s winemaking is precise yet restrained: 25% whole bunch fermentation, gentle handling of the remainder, a cold soak, then ageing in French oak puncheons with 30% new oak for eight months. The result is a Pinot Noir that balances supple fruit with savoury complexity, fine acidity, and subtle structure. It is a clear expression of the Coal River Valley’s elegance, supported by careful craft in the cellar.
